  4. cheers guys,
i love this type of shit, been thinking about future military hardware since i was a kid.

thanks campbell, i tried to muster a bit more effort for this one and make it more finished...

i'd love to see something like this in a film firing its rail gun in a dirty urban environment, hyper kinetic rounds kicking up dust shockwaves like a tank cannon...

  5. Awesome concept! scarily realistic! I can actually imagine Boston Dynamics making something like this in a couple of decades! (maybe without the rail gun though for our sakes) lol

    cheers,

    Isaac

  6. Ressembles me the guy from Appleseed. The head is armed with 2 weapons?

  7. you mean ol' Briareos Hecatonchires? if so, that's a big complement! shirow is the fucking man! the best! pity he's all tentacle porn now...

and yep, the head has two weapons, the upper is a large caliber caseless dual-feed cannon (HE rounds and incendiary), and the lower is a non lethal or special warhead weapon, with p90 style magazine under the chin.

    cheers!

  9. To reload small one you have to replace lower jaw, funny! :)

Yeah, Briareos! Even color scheme... Kind of future sentinel. Rail gun type rifle looks like sniper one, ammo clip is on the top "p90" style, it seems you like this gun.

  16. What process or software do you use? I'm looking to learn how to design in a similar fashion.

  17. Cheers!
The talented guys at BLR used this design in their new project, Keloid. Check out the trailer here:

Hey Cooley, I paint in photoshop and sometimes use photos that I work over.

  18. Hey man this thing is awesome!! Looked even better in the Keloid short. Can't wait to see more work from you!

  19. I just saw the Keloid trailer and I was blown away. I found out about it by io9 and in their description they claim this is a 'power suit' but that doesn't seem possible.

Can I ask if the design is intended as a robot, drone, or suit?

    Amazing stuff. Very inspiring.

  20. Your work is amazing and I really enjoyed the k3loid short film. Great work keep it up!

  21. Hey Roy,
my thinking with the original design was that it's an autonomous robot. But in the context of Keloid perhaps they are either remote piloted, or sub-sentient drone troops.

It's your design with Kalashnikov or they made this version by themself?

  23. Aaron's credited on the Keloid short film. I LOVE THIS STUFFFFFF

    1. In Blacklight Retribution you can clearly see this char and Viper (which btw keeps the same name in game), I even though Mr. Beck has something to do with it.

  26. Did anyone else think of Blacklight Retribution's "M.A.R.S." character?

  27. I've seen a few people say this looks like something called MARS from a game. I looked it up, and it would seem pretty clear to me that its probably inspired by stuff like my design above. This was drawn in 2010 and released online in 2011. The blacklight game came out in 2012... do the math

    1. The hardsuit (read: mech) from the game's also inspired by your art, as well.
